New Year's Resolutions for 2016

I normally don't part take in New Year's Resolutions because they never feel meaningful to me. However, I've realized that the end of a year is a great way to reflect on my accomplishments and adjust my goals accordingly for the coming year.
In this post I'm going to share my resolutions with you and hopefully it'll inspire you to set your own goals for this year!

1. I'm illustrating and animating a children's nap time story with my wife.
I've always wanted to get into illustration and my wife always wanted to voice act for a children's show.
I thought that the best way to make this happen, is to create this opportunity for ourselves. We don't know yet what it's going to be about, how many episodes we're going to do or how long they're going to be.
The important thing is that we make one episode see where it takes us.

2. I'm defining a visual style and find more people for my Breathing Canvas series
By defining a clearer visual style I think it'll make the series stronger. I also want to broaden the type of people I'm going to photograph. Right now I only photograph people with tattoos, I want to expand it to people with other body modifications (like heavy piercings for example).

3. I'm making a dress.
I've been photographing for about 4 years now and I've been noticing that conceptual stuff never really ends up being what it is in my head, because the styling is never exactly what I want it to be. So I decided to make a (very simple) dress and shoot this dress this year.

So there they are, my resolutions for this year. They are very big and focus heavily on creating things. I did this on purpose because 2015 has been a year where I haven't created as much, but that's ok! We don't have to create all the time, it's nice to take some time to reflect and discover what else is out there.
I'd love to know what your resolutions are. Let me know on Facebook or Instagram what your resolutions are and why you choose to go for them.
